On October 5th 2023, BPS-Statistics of Gresik Regency held a Positive Discussion and Information Sharing, then we call it as DISPOSISI. Held in Sang Pencerah Hall, Muhammadiyah University Gresik, this DISPOSISI was entitled "Workshop in the Use of Big Data". This event was held in commemoration of National Statistics Day 2023 which is celebrated every September 26, as well as to increase statistical literacy among students, regional government organizations, and also personnel of BPS-Statistics of Gresik Regency. The event started with a welcome speech by the Head of the BPS-Statistics of Gresik Regency, Mrs. Ir. Indriya Purwaningsih, MT., and Rector of Muhammadiyah University Gresik, Mrs. Nadhirotul Laily, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D, Psikolog. Then, the event continued with a keynote speech from the Head of Communication and Information Service of Gresik Regency, Mrs. Dra. Ninik Asrukin, M.M.

In this workshop, as the speakers were the Head of the Information Systems Study Program, Muhammadiyah University Gresik, Mr. Indra Gita Anugrah, S.Kom., M.Kom. and Young Computer Expert from BPS-Statistics of East Java Province, Mr. Eko Hardiyanto, SST., MT. In this workshop, Mr. Indra presented about Big Data, Opportunities and Challenges. Meanwhile, Mr. Eko presented more specifically about Big Data, which is the Use of Big Data for Statistics.

As institution that provides data for society and government in Indonesia, BPS-Statistics of Gresik Regency is committed to continuing to strengthen its role and contribution as provider of quality statistics as well as a supervisor of statistical data. BPS will continue to increase its capacity and capability as the conductor of statistical data management so that the quality and integration of the Official State Statistics produced by both BPS and institutional ministries and regional governments continues to be improved.
