Abstract

In August 2015 Jawa Timur experienced inflation of 0.36 percent. All cities in Jawa Timur CPI inflation. The highest inflation was at 0.48 percent Surabaya, Banyuwangi followed by 0.35 percent, 0.31 percent Jember, Malang 0.28 percent, and 0.08 percent Madiun. While the lowest inflation occurred in three cities namely; Sumenep, Kediri, and Kota Probolinggo with each inflation of 0.02 percent.

Of the seven expenditure groups, five groups of expenditure inflation and spending two groups experienced deflation. Expenditure groups with the highest inflation was education, recreation and sports at 1.89 percent, followed by foodstuff by 1.31 percent, health 0.74 percent, processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.69 percent, and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.14 percent. Whereas expenditure groups experienced deflation is a group of transport, communications, and financial services by 1.26 percent and the clothing group by 0.04 percent.
