Abstract

n April 2016 Jawa Timur experienced deflation of 0.25 percent. Of the eight cities of the CPI in Jawa Timur, all experienced deflation. The highest deflation occurred in Banyuwangi by 0.61 percent, followed by 0.46 percent Jember district, Kediri City was 0.45 percent, Malang by 0.40 percent, 0.39 percent Sumenep, Probolinggo City by 0, 16 percent, Surabaya by 0.15 percent and the lowest deflation was in Madiun by 0.08 percent.

Of the seven expenditure groups, three groups of expenditure deflation and four groups of expenditure inflation. Expenditure groups experiencing the highest deflation is a group of transport, communications, and financial services by 1.73 percent, followed by housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.15 percent and education, recreation and sport 0,09 percent. While groups of expenditure that inflation is processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.53 percent, followed by the health group by 0.30 percent, clothing 0.12 percent, and foodstuff by 0.02 percent.
