In May 2019 Jawa Timur experienced inflation of 0.29 percent. All CPI cities in Jawa Timur experienced inflation. The highest inflation in Sumenep reached 0.69 percent, while Kota Kediri experienced the lowest inflation of 0.05 percent. From the seven expenditure groups, six groups experienced inflation and one group experienced deflation. The group that experienced the highest inflation was the Foodstuffs group of 0.68 percent, while the group that experienced deflation was the Education, Recreation, and Sports group by 0.07 percent.
