EXPORT DEVELOPMENT
  • The value of East Java's exports in September 2019 reached USD 1.59 billion, down by 15.99 percent compared to August. This value compared to September 2018 decreased by 2.66 percent.
  • September 2019 non-oil and gas exports reached USD 1.53 billion, down by 14.23 percent compared to August. This value compared to September 2018 rose by 1.35 percent.
  • September 2019 oil and gas exports reached USD 60.70 million, down by 44.63 percent compared to August. This value decreased by 51.27 percent when compared to September 2018.
  • The main categories of non-oil and gas exports in September 2019 are Jewelry / Gems at USD 252.31 million, followed by Timber and Wood Goods at USD 112.00 million and Copper at USD 105.98 million.
  • Cumulatively, during January-September 2019, exports out of East Java were USD 15.19 billion, down 0.04 percent compared to January-September 2018, amounting to USD 15.20 billion.
  • The biggest non-oil and gas export destination countries in January-September 2019 are Japan reaching USD 2,173.30 million (with a role of 14.95 percent) followed by exports to the United States of USD 1,946.24 million or with a role of 13.39 percent, and to China USD 1,628.76 million with a role of 11.21 percent. Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 2,733.28 million or with a contribution of 18.80 percent, while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union were USD 1,216.13 million (8.37 percent).
DEVELOPMENT OF IMPORT
  • The value of East Java's imports in September 2019 reached USD 1.93 billion, an increase of 5.15 percent compared to August. This figure has decreased by 3.25 percent compared to September 2018.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in September 2019 reached USD 1.55 billion, up 1.58 percent compared to August. The value of non-oil and gas imports rose by 0.49 percent compared to September 2018.
  • Oil and gas imports in September 2019 amounted to USD 382.72 million or increased by 22.58 percent compared to August. Compared to September 2018, the value decreased by 15.94 percent.
  • The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in September 2019 are the Iron and Steel (HS 72) group of USD 200.30 million, followed by the Mechanical Aircraft Machinery (HS 84) group at USD 175.71 million and the Plastic and Plastic goods group (HS 84) HS 39) in the amount of USD 123.00 Million.
  • Cumulatively, during January-September 2019, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 17.15 billion or decreased by 9.30 percent compared to January-September 2018, amounting to USD 18.91 billion
  • The largest countries of origin of non-oil and gas imported goods during January-September 2019 from China were USD 4,133.53 million (29.60 percent), followed from the United States with USD 986.33 million (7.06 percent) and imports from Thailand amounting to USD 716.24 million (5.13 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of USD 2,146.97 million (15.38 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 1,244.00 million (8.91 percent).
