• The total population of East Java in September 2020 according to the SP2020 results was 40.67 million people.

• The population growth rate for the 2010-2020 period was 0.79 percent per year, an increase compared to the 2000-2010 period which was 0.75 percent.

• East Java is still in the demographic bonus period because 71.65 percent of the population is still in the productive age (15-64 years).

• The percentage of the population aged 60 years and over in East Java increased to 13.1 percent from 10.40 percent of the SP2010 results.

• The number of male population is less than the number of female population with sex 99.6.

• The largest population of East Java was in the Mataraman group, namely 34.62 percent, followed by the Arek group at 30.86 percent, the Pandalungan group at 24.67 percent and the Madura group at 9.85 percent.
