Abstract

The percentage of poor people in September 2022 was 10.49 percent, up 0.11 percentage points from March 2022 and decreased 0.10 points from September 2021.

The number of poor people in September 2022 was 4.236 million people, an increase of 55.22 thousand people compared to March 2022 and a decrease of 23.09 thousand people compared to September 2021.

The percentage of urban poor population in March 2022 was 7.71 percent, increasing to 7.78 percent in September 2022. Meanwhile the percentage of rural poor population in March 2022 was 13.69 percent, increasing to 13.90 percent in September 2022.

Compared to March 2022, the number of urban poor in September 2022 increased by 24.18 thousand people (from 1.721 million people in March 2022 to 1.752 million people in September 2022). Meanwhile, during the same period, the number of poor people in rural areas increased by 24.2 thousand people (from 2.459 million people in March 2022 to 2.484 million people in September 2022).

The Poverty Line in September 2022 was recorded at IDR 487,908/capita/month with a composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 368,771 (75.58 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 119,136 (24.42 percent).

In September 2022, on average, poor households in East Java have 3.86 household members. Thus, the average poverty line per poor household is Rp. 1,883,324.88,-/poor household/month.
