Abstract

  • East Java's economy grew in the third quarter of 2023 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reaching IDR 754.47 trillion, while GRDP at constant prices in 2010 reached IDR 469.31 trillion.
  • East Java's economy in Quarter III-2023 to Quarter II-2023 experienced growth of 1.79 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field which grew by 16.79 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Component which grew by 5.29 percent.
  • East Java's economy in Quarter III-2023 compared to Quarter III-2022 increased by 4.86 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field which grew by 30.84 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Consumption Expenditure Component of Nonprofit Institutions Serving Households (PKLNPRT) which grew by 7.05 percent.
  • East Java's economy in Quarter III-2023 compared to Quarter III-2022 increased by 5.02 percent (c-to-c). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field which grew by 21.97 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Consumption Expenditure Component of Nonprofit Institutions Serving Households (PKLNPRT) which grew by 8.23 ​​percent.
  • Structurally, the Processing Industry Business Field dominates East Java's economic structure in Quarter III-2023 with a contribution of 30.06 percent, while in terms of expenditure it is dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) with a contribution of 59.75 percent.
