Abstract

  • Jawa Timur's economy grew in the first quarter of 2024 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reaching IDR 764.33 trillion, while GRDP at constant prices in 2010 reached IDR 470.63 trillion.
  • Jawa Timur's economy in Quarter I-2024 to Quarter IV-2023 experienced growth of 1.16 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Water Supply Business Field which grew by 4.84 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Goods and Services Export Component which grew by 3.83 percent.
  • Jawa Timur's economy in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023 increased by 4.81 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field which grew by 14.89 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Consumption Expenditure Component of Nonprofit Institutions Serving Households (PKLNPRT) which grew by 18.06 percent.
  • Structurally, the Processing Industry business sector dominates Jawa Timur's economic structure in the first quarter of 2024 with a contribution of 31.54 percent, while in terms of expenditure it is dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) with a contribution of 61.37 percent.
