ANALYSIS OF CORN POTENTIAL IN GRESIK REGENCY, 2018-2021

'Food security is a crucial issue in Indonesia. The availability of sufficient food to meet the needs of the population is very important to avoid prolonged political and social turmoil. One manifestation of the government's concern for this issue is making food needs a human right for Indonesian citizens as stipulated in Law Number 18 of 2012. This effort is certainly in line with the first and second goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely ending poverty everywhere. and in all its forms and end hunger, achieve food security and better nutrition and support sustainable agriculture. Rice and corn are two major commodity groups that are very important in Indonesia. Apart from rice being the main commodity, corn also has an important role in the food supply in Indonesia. Corn is the second strategic commodity after rice (Bappenas, 2014). Corn is the second source of carbohydrates after rice, a derivative of rice. The publication of Maize Potential Analysis in Gresik Regency, 2018-2021 presents an overview of the development of corn crop production in Gresik Regency in 2018-2021. Developments presented in this publication include harvested area, productivity and production. In addition, this publication also presents an overview of the condition of corn production levels in districts/cities around Gresik Regency. The data presented is expected to meet the needs of data users.
