Abstract

Number of poor in Jawa Timur in March 2015 compared to September 2014 increased by 0.06 percentage points from 12.28 per cent in September 2014 to 12.34 percent in March 2015.

The urban poor in March 2015 amounted to 31.84 percent of the total poor population of Jawa Timur province or of 1524.62 thousand inhabitants. During one semester (September 2014 till March 2015), the increase in the percentage of poor population occurred in rural areas (0.26 percentage points), while in urban areas decreased (-0.11 percentage points).
