Abstract

Number of poor in Jawa Timur in September 2015 compared to March 2015 fell by 0.06 percentage points from 12.34 per cent in March 2015 to 12.28 per cent in September 2015

The urban poor in September 2015 amounted to 32.90 percent of the total poor population of Jawa Timur province or of 1571.15 thousand inhabitants. During one semester (March 2015 till September 2015), a decrease in the percentage of poor population occurred in rural areas (-0.34 percentage points), while in urban areas has increased (0.22 percentage points).
