Abstraction
• In March 2020, the level of inequality in expenditure by the population of East Java as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.366. This figure is up by 0.002 points when compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.364.
• The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2020 was recorded at 0.377, up compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.374. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2020 was recorded at 0.316, an increase compared to the September 2019 Gini Ratio of 0.314.
• In March 2020, the distribution of population expenditure in the lowest 40 percent was 18.46 percent. This means that population expenditure is in the category of low inequality. Likewise, if broken down by region, population expenditure in both urban and rural areas is in the low inequality category. In urban areas the figure was 17.81 percent, and in rural areas the figure was 20.71 percent.
