Abstract

The total workforce in February 2022 was 23.04 million people, an increase of 659.33 thousand people compared to February 2021 and an increase of 234.44 thousand people compared to February 2020. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 1.24 percentage points compared to the TPAK in February 2021. although still lower than the LFPR in February 2020.
  • The February 2022 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 4.81 percent, down 0.36 percentage points compared to February 2021, but up 1.57 percentage points compared to February 2020.
  • The working population is 21.93 million people, an increase of 900.63 thousand people from February 2021. The Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sectors are the jobs that experienced the largest increase (2.12 percentage points). On the other hand, the Other Services Sector experienced the biggest decline (1.03 percentage point).
  • A total of 8.22 million people (37.46 percent) work in formal activities, an increase of 0.46 percentage points compared to February 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed decreased by 0.64 percentage point, while the percentage of part-time workers increased by 0.41 percentage point compared to February 2021.
  • There are 1.64 million people (5.04 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consisting of unemployment due to COVID-19 (116.65 thousand people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (67.97 thousand people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (81.76 thousand people), and residents workers who experienced reduced working hours due to COVID-19 (1.37 million people).
